Description of Significance SACRED TO THE TRIBES THAT FREQUENTED THE AREA, MEDICINE BLUFFS IS A SERIES OF ROCK PROMINTORIES LAID OUT IN A CRESCENT OVERLOOKING MEDICINE CREEK. A TRADITIONAL CULTURAL PLACE TO A NUMBER OF TRIBES, THE BLUFFS WERE AND ARE USED AS A PLACE OF MEDITATION, OF HEALING, AND OF COMMUNION. THE MILITARY HAS USED THE BLUFFS FOR MORE MUNDANE ACTIVITIES AS A SIGNAL POST AND TRAINING FACILITY. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 12/31/74.
